Chris's Ruby

In this journey of life, you hear about amazing people, who are truly wonderful, kind hearted souls, those who make a lasting impact on the people they come into contact with. For us, Christopher Stojanovski was that person, and more.  Chris was a beautiful, kind human through and through, loved and adored by his beautiful wife Maya and darling baby girl Ruby, treasured by his family and cherished by his friends.

In February 2018, Chris’ life was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with Melanoma behind his eye. For Chris, this meant having his eye removed. Chris recovered from his surgery and carried on with his life with Maya trying to start their family. Chris and Maya were overjoyed to discover they were expecting their first child, due in July 2019.

In early 2019, however, during routine scans and tests Chris and Maya discovered that the cancer had spread to Chris’ liver. Chris, being the fighter that he was, underwent major surgery yet again, removing 30% of his liver.

Chris had a ‘never give up’ attitude!

Just last month, Chris, Maya and Ruby raised funds for a cancer free future, participating in the 7 Bridges Walk.  That was Chris to his core, always thinking about others, and always giving back!

Chris and Maya decided to share their journey into parenthood with the world on the show ‘One Born Every Minute’. Their story aired in the premiere episode of 2019 (You can view this episode here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0Kqb8Vf0U8&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR3kkoX8vz2HM6tBwMRqaFLolaeNCUDUfs1ShVf4o5Zyelj8rbcR1eSBgUI ). We all were lucky enough to share in the birth of beautiful baby Ruby, who was born on the 4th of July 2019. Chris and Maya wanted to document their journey into parenthood  for Ruby and share their experience with their friends and family, as well as the world. Precious Ruby was born with a rare heart condition called Ebstein’s Anomaly which will require surgical intervention in the future.   Since Ruby’s birth, Chris and Maya have enjoyed making beautiful family memories with Ruby and their family, treasuring every precious moment and memory.

On 15 November 2019, at 8.16am, we tragically lost our precious Chris to Melanoma at the tender age of 41.  Chris was a beautiful human, the kind that touches your heart and stays in it forever. To his work family he was affectionately known as “Stoj” and we will miss him terribly.  To his beautiful baby girl Ruby he was her Tato (dad), and to Maya, the love of her life.

Those who knew Chris will know, that all he would want, in this world, is the very best for his beautiful wife and daughter. We have set up this page as a trust for Ruby, as our way of giving back to Chris, in the only way we can now, by making sure Ruby grows up knowing how loved, respected and treasured her dad was and will always be.

Forever in our hearts, Chris will never be forgotten.
