Christopher Burns' Eagle Scout Project - Handicapped Ramp for Stoneham Historical Society
Hello. My name is Christopher D. Burns.
I am a Boy Scout with Stoneham Troop 513 in Stoneham, MA. I have been involved in Scouting since the first grade. I am currently a Life Scout working towards achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout a scout must demonstrate management and leadership skills by completing a service project to benefit the community.
For my service project, I am building a handicapped ramp for the Stoneham Historical Society (https://stonehamhistoricalsociety.org/). The Stoneham Historical Society is an all volunteer organization founded in 1922. Currently, there is no easy way for a physically challenged visitor to enter the building and enjoy all the Historical Society has to offer.
To complete this project, I will need to raise $5, 270 for demolition of the old stairs, a dumpster, excavation equipment, cement mixer, and building materials & supplies.
I hope to have the ramp completed by the end of Fall 2018.
I would appreciate any contribution you can make. Your donation will help cover the cost of materials for this important project. Any excess funds raised will be donated to the Stoneham Historical Society. All donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you,
Christopher D. Burns
