CHIRP's New Land: Clean Up and Fundraiser
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit California Heritage Indigenous Reseach Project's Land Clean Up project , and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much.
Join Us!!!!!!! The restoration of this land starts with a community clean up party on May 30th to remove the tremendous amount of trash that has been dumped on this beautiful landscape. This is the first of many steps and we are inviting local individuals and organizations to join us in the process.
Spring is the perfect time to begin the reclamation!
We want to thank Hospitality House for choosing CHIRP's land as one of the sites for their community cleaning project. Bringing in other partners and friends will amplify these efforts.
You can assist in the success of this project through either hands-on clean up support or by making a tax-deductible donation that will go toward future land needs. So grab your gloves and a friend or two and join CHIRP and our co-sponsors, Hospitality House-Community Shelter and The Sierra Fund for the first annual CHIRP cleanup event.
In early 2019, CHIRP successfully acquired a 32-acre parcel of land on angkula seo (Deer Creek) just downstream from the Nisenan Tribute Site and Bridge on Deer Creek Tribute Trail. The land will be protected from development and will be used to further CHIRP’s mission: to preserve, protect and perpetuate Nisenan culture. The land is currently in dire need of help before we can begin using it for cultural purposes.
