MTM Mother’s Day Donation
Donation protected
MTM Living Hope is pleased to announce our first Mother’s Day event in support of NICU moms at Chippenham and Johnston Willis Hospital.
MY STORY :
My name is Donavan Westbrook and twenty years ago I was born weighing less than three pounds. I was scheduled to have a Tracheotomy due to subglottic stenosis. During two months spent in the Chippenham NICU, I experienced several complications including a minor heart issue and two bacterial infections. A couple days before the scheduled Tracheotomy surgery I miraculously pulled out my ventilator tube, and by the grace of God began breathing on my own. Today I am on a mission to help other preemies everywhere.
OUR MISSION : This upcoming Mother’s Day we are planning to do another donation event.
WHY DONATE ? Pregnancy should be a time of excitement but sometimes the unexpected happens. In the United States around 380,000 babies are born prematurely each year. The average cost of daily NICU care exceeds $3,000, and this can become a huge financial burden for many families during the holidays. During our volunteer efforts we discovered that many of the NICU families reported a lack in baby supplies to prepare them for the future of leaving these units. At MTM Living Hope we believe that giving is the highest level of living. Every donation makes a difference. Join us in bringing hope to NICU moms this Mother’s Day.
HOW WILL FUNDS BE USED ? All funds will be used to give each NICU family gift cards or care packages.
(National NICU Giving Day ) 09/27/2020
(Donavan Westbrook : 2lbs 9oz )
In 2020 we gave a total of $2,490 to support NICU families.
