Have you ever wondered how we will establish a Moon or even a Mars base in the near future? Or what is needed to actually start living a comfortable life on another celestial body?
ICEE Space is an international space test, research, and development start-up for future human space exploration that is focused on answering these very questions and many others.
With our flagship analog astronaut mission, CHILL-ICE (Construction of a Habitat Inside a Lunar-Analogue Lava-tube), we focus on the crucial first hours after landing where potential emergencies and risks will be the highest for the astronauts. Ensuring maximum safety and comfort for astronauts during these stages is key to setting up and living in a foreign environment like that of the lava-tube (or the Moon!). Through these analog missions, ICEE.Space also provides test-beds for research and technology for extreme environments on Earth and by extension, outer space.
Our ambitious ventures, however, come at a cost. Developing the technology such as space suits, habitats, power and communications systems, and so on, account for 75% of the costs, while the remainder serves to sustain the crew and provide mobility to and from the mission site in Iceland.
CHILL ICE II is increasing financial investment to improve the quality of the mission, life support systems, and robotic deployment. Additional resources are invested in branding and media production to increase project visibility.
Our previous analog mission has been generously supported by several sponsors as well as individual well-wishers and space enthusiasts and we would greatly appreciate similar support for our future endeavors!
You and/or your company can now join the space analog community by contributing to our crowdfund and possibly even collaborating with us!
