Children’s Museum Odyssey of Mind
Beschermde donatie

These super five Manzanita Elementary students had the desire to create and compete in this think outside the box program. They sought out Children’s Museum Tucson to sponsor them. The Museum graciously agreed to sponsor them and afford these kids the opportunity to enter the competition. Working weekly since October, and entirely on their own, this team of creative, witty children, wrote a script, designed and created props and costumes, and practiced tirelessly during the week and on weekends. Not only did they win first place in both the regional and state competitions, but they were honored with the coveted Omer award for their inspiring choice of themes, teamwork and peace. Additionally, the team placed first in both regional and state competitions in the spontaneous portion of the tournament which requires quick, out of the box thinking and teamwork.
We are so proud of this team’s accomplishments and are thrilled to be qualified for the World Competition in Ames Iowa, May 23-27th. The journey will include fees for housing, transportation, and a hefty $3,000 registration fee. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for this team, one of whose members is moving to Australia, and this tight knit bunch wants to relish in their success together. Please help by donating whatever you can so we can be sure to participate! Watch out Ames, here the Children’s Museum Tucson team comes!
