Children of Donald T. Wilson Fund

Hello,

For those that don't know me, my name is Cheryl Patenaude and I'm Don Wilson's sister. I set up this page to raise funds to assist the future needs of his children, Katie & Donny. Don passed away suddenly on 4/10/22 while fighting MDS, a rare type of bone marrow cancer. Everyone knew Donnie as a strong, tough, courageous man who could overcome anything but this MDS was the one fight he couldn't win. Our only consolation is that he is finally free of the pain that plagued him since his snowmobile accident in 2014.

Along with Don, we all thought he would beat this cancer diagnosis. His passing happened so unexpectedly and MDS took a lot from him, physically and financially. Many of his friends have reached out to us asking how they can help his kids, and I thought this would be the best and easiest way to do that.

Katie is in school, studying to be a nurse, and this experience has reinforced her desire to help people. Her dad was her best friend and her biggest cheerleader. Katie assisted me in caring for him and taking him to appointments, and it's apparent that she inherited her father's strength. "Little Donnie," as he's known, even though he towers over his father, is a fun-loving guy with the biggest heart, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for his family. We know he'll struggle with this loss for quite some time, and his family will continue guiding him in life as his father did.

Our family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts! We know you all are as shocked as we are. We appreciate all the calls, texts, and well wishes. May Don forever rest in peace, and may God bless you all.
