Mochilas para Mexico

Welcome to Mochilas Para Mexico!

Mochilas Para Mexico aims to provide backpacks filled with various necessary school supplies to students in the Mexican education system that are in need while also providing supplies for teachers to be able to better educate their students. Here, many children are not able to continue their education once they reach reasonable working age, as their contributions to the household outweigh the cost of education. In Mexico, most schools are private, requiring tuition fees and uniform costs on top of basic supply costs. Additionally, teachers are paid low wages making it hard to keep their classrooms full of necessary tools for learning.

Last summer, we were able to donate about 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to two towns in the Western state of Sonora, Mexico. This year, our goal is to pass out 200 backpacks.
