Type 1 Diabetes & PSPA Ireland

I've decided to use this year's Dublin City Marathon to try to raise money for two extremely worthwhile causes and would greatly appreciate any donation, however small.

The first charity is PSPA, a charity involved in increasing the awareness of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy,  a degenerative brain disorder which has devastating effects on sufferers and their loved ones. This is particularly close to my heart as my mother-in-law battled this illness for 5 years until her passing in 2016. My father-in-law was pivotal in setting up this charity and continues to work closely with them.

The second is Diabetes Ireland, in particular, their work with childhood diabetes. A close friend of mine has a son with Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease which attacks the insulin- producing beta cells in the pancreas and destroys them, leaving them dependent on multiple daily insulin injections or pump therapy. The work Diabetes Ireland does to increase awareness and to support sufferers and their families is vital, as is its efforts to increase the availability of the latest technological advances and treatment options.

All funds raised will be divided 50/50 between the 2 charities.

Thanks in advance......now just the small matter of these 26.2 miles!!!!
