Chi Phi Upsilon for NAACP's LDF

Tax deductible
For more than a week, the social and racial inequalities that have plagued our nation for so long have been put on center stage. The killing of George Floyd along with the protests that ensued are not the first example of police brutality and oppression that Black Americans have endured. In times like this, it is vital to come together to fight these injustices, and to learn not only from the events taking place but also to learn from each other.

Chi Phi was built on many morals, one of which is friendship and brotherhood. In fact, the unofficial flower of our fraternity is the yellow rose which represents friendship. Our organization welcomes anyone into our family regardless of race. We believe the true character of a person derives from their actions, and not from the color of their skin. As the brothers of our fraternity have watched the events unfold over the past few days, we have also searched for ways in which we can make a difference, and fight against the persistent inequalities to defend the beliefs that we hold so dear. Together we have decided to create this page to raise money for an organization that is at the forefront of the battle against social injustices inflicted upon the Black community.

We found the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund as a great destination for all funds that we are able to raise because of their beliefs as well as the actions they take to acquire their goals. The NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund is the first civil and human rights law firm founded by Thurgood Marshall in 1940, and since then has used law, education and other tools to fight for and maintain racial justice.

We understand that not everyone is able to donate financially right now, but if you are able to do so it would be a great step forward in this fight for racial justice, and to combat the recurring tragedies that we have grown all too familiar with.

Please join the brothers of the Upsilon Chapter of Chi Phi in raising money for a better tomorrow.
