Chesterfield Police Department COVID-19 Cutbacks

In October of 2016 my 2-year-old daughter Olivia had been running a fever and we had been monitoring it with the help of our doctor. At 3am the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my life took place. My little girl started to go into a seizure and then became completely non-responsive. My wife immediately called 911, and within minutes, two Chesterfield Police Officers were at our side and took control of the situation. While 1 officer worked on our daughter the other calmed us explaining that they had seen this before with little kids. A few minutes later my wife was in an ambulance headed to Mercy Hospital. Olivia had an infection that had resulted in a febrile seizure.
After a few days in the hospital, she was home, and back to her normal antics.
I will never forget that night and how the Chesterfield Police Department was there for us when we needed help. So when I heard yesterday that due to COVID-19 the City of Chesterfield has lost the sales tax needed to pay staff and that every member of the Police Department has agreed to take a 10% pay cut in order to avoid the furlough of 15 officers, I wanted to do something.

This campaign hopes to raise enough money to help the 115 officers and police support staff that took the pay cut by making up some of the gap. They are still patrolling our streets and supporting us without change, so I hope we can support them as well.
