Matt and Ashley have been on The Cindy Shetterly Team for over a year now and have grown to be like family. Matt is a strong family man with two kids Haley and Colton and wife Ashley.  Any donation to this family would be appreciated, no donation is too small. Giving back is one of the missions of The Cindy Shetterly Team, and this time the need is close to home. 

The Cheeks Story...
Matt Cheek was diagnosed with an Oligodendroglioma brain tumor in August 2011. The tumor was benign and was able to be removed with surgery. Matt and Ashley were informed that the tumor could reoccur and become aggressive at any time. For that reason, Matt would have to have a scan every 6 months. In 2017, Matt had to have a second surgery to remove the tumor once again. He then had to undergo 6 weeks of radiation and be on a monthly regimen for a year.

This spring, the oncologist noticed a change in his scans once again. Matt had his third surgery on September 13th. After an almost 10 hour surgery, Matt was facing a long recovery. The doctors advised that he do radiation again. This time a high dose for 10 days and start a trial treatment to prevent the tumor from returning.
On October 23rd, Matt had a scan to prepare for radiation. The doctors noticed that his tumor was growing again and more rapidly. This time the tumor returned as a Grade III and in stage 4 cancer. Surgery is not an option, and it is in a very difficult spot to treat safely. Matt is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy currently.
