Charice and babies out of the cold

My Friend...
Years ago I met this woman briefly as we stood in line waiting for our children to exit the preschool door (her son and my grand) we exchanged pleasantries then took our babies home. This went on for 6 years. She added babies and I added grands. The kids grew close especially the 2 that started preschool together...they spent nights and visited each other often. My Dad was there for all of these events and watched the boys grow and was often the one meeting the babies at the door and there she would be waiting for her babies.Always kind and always soft spoken and she always said hello. My daughter became good friends with her. They invited each other to do birthdays and family things. The families grew. I would see her at school events and always said hello. My dad passed. The meetings at the door stopped and I lost track of her and her family for little while. Then 1 day I saw a Facebook post a wanted looking for this man post...a man who looked very much like the kids dad. I called my daughter and she called Charice. She confirmed that her husband had got himself in some trouble. They lost there home and some of there family due to his substance abuse. Through this she kept trying.Dealing with mental and physical abuse until the law finally caught up to him. Now she was alone. Alone with 6 beautiful mouths to feed. She moved out of state to keep them warm as it was winter but had no home or enough money rent a home they started living in their truck. She came home to Colorado to try to get help but got little. A news station did her story and got her into a house that a woman was to donate for 3 months but she was in the home a month and the woman put the home for sale as soon as the news cameras left. She was back in her truck. She stayed with friends a bit but didn't want to take advantage of anyone so she never stayed long. She has been in her truck over a year with minimal help. I recently connected with her again and started to ask for the kids to do things with me whenever I had my grandkids.(almost every weekend) They grew up together so they get along real well. The littlest asked to call me grandma...he's 5. I said if course. Now they all call me grandma. With that name comes great responsibility. I havelooked into help, I have talked to social workers ,I have asked for help from friends and family. I can't imagine my children or my grandchildren living out of a vehicle no matter the circumstances. The love that surrounds all them I want for Charice and her babies. Idon't want them cold or hungry or sad.with that i believe it takes a village. I don't have all the answers or the resources but I won't give up just has she hasn't. I would like to raise enough money to buy a 21-24 ft camper trailer and 3 months rent at a rv park. Her nine-year-old has scoliosis andneeds surgery but can't have the surgery without having a home. This is putting pressure on his lungs. We are also coming up on theholidays. She just needs help. She is on the list for housing that is 2 to 4 years out. Please help me help her. Grandma Angel
