Garrison and Merilyn Chaffee lost their home in the devastating Camp Fire.
Garrison is the youth pastor at the Paradise Adventist Church which also burned to the ground and Merilyn is the Music Director at Paradise Adventist Academy which was also damaged in the fire. Previously, Merilyn and Garrison worked in Redlands, Orcas Island, Grass Valley and Santa Rosa.
Garrison and Merilyn have three children: Lilliana, a sophomore in high school; Makayla, a 7th grader; and Grayson, a 5th grader.
The Chaffees are currently staying with four other families with a generous church family in Gridley. They don’t know what the future holds. “We’re night to night right now,” explained Merilyn. “We’re happy and healthy and all is well. I’m confident God will bring beauty from the miles and miles of ashes.”
In true Garrison and Merilyn fashion, they do not want to ask for help. I’ve been best friends with Merilyn since the 4th grade, and I know that there are many other family and friends who are ready and eager to help. All funds will go directly to them and will be used to help them rebuild their lives and the community of Paradise. Thank you!
