CELESTIAL EARTH: We Are Here ... but when?

– A 3-D Multimedia Poetry Experience

In this time of shock and despair and the increased needs of many for practical resources like food, housing, and health care, we find ourselves seeking support for art, which we think is also vitally necessary to our ultimate survival.

CELESTIAL EARTH: We Are Here … but when? is a multimedia immersion event including short films and a soundscape centered around conceptual artist Barbaria Maria's long-form poem, "Celestial Earth." The program offers a wide-reaching poetry-based sonic and visual experience for gathering and strengthening spirit, stimulating creative inspiration, and thereby engaging and encouraging the long view, where hope can find a way.

CELESTIAL EARTH places our foreground, our immediate story, in the context of a larger story. Much larger. Along with the films that precede it, the sonic journey among the stars offers audiences a direct experience of the interconnection of all life, honoring our home, the magnificent Earth, while we celebrate her place in the cosmos.

SoundBone Media seeks donations for the April presentations of CELESTIAL EARTH at the Versant Power Astronomy Center and Jordan Planetarium at the University of Maine at Orono, to enable a very low ticket cost to the public.

These funds will help us to present it to other planetariums around the country as well.

We are also seeking donations for high-tech projection equipment to enable the presentation of CELESTIAL EARTH at other venues such as community centers, theatres, large galleries, and art centers.
