Celebration of Life - Shane Wolf
My brother-in-law, Shane, lost his life tragically and unexpectedly on August 13th, 2021. He adored and left behind his wife, Sarah, and children, Ezra (10) and Carissa (9). He was just 42 years old.
Many have asked how they can help. Shane did have life insurance but it’s rarely enough and every little bit helps during a very difficult time. Funds raised will be used for funeral and medical expenses as well as Ezra and Carissa’s education.

I am devastated to let you all know that Shane passed away today and has left a massive Shane-sized hole in the universe. He was so completely loved by absolutely everyone he met. Shane has been the most adoring husband, devoted father and loyal friend - beyond what anyone deserves from a partner. I don't know how I got so lucky but I praise God for Shane and every day that we had together.
Shane died unexpectedly and, truth be told, I can't believe that he is truly gone. He collapsed on August 11th and never woke up again. We don't know why a perfectly healthy, active 42-year-old man would collapse, but we hope to have answers from the medical examiner soon. EMS was able to restart Shane's heart but he had been without oxygen too long and suffered brain damage that could not be repaired. Shane never regained consciousness and never knew any more pain. Praise God for that small mercy.
Shane was kept alive on life support to honor his wish of being an organ donor. For a man who hated needles I am so proud that he made that choice. While we waited for Shane's organs to be matched we were able to hold him and love him deeply.
Ezra and Carissa spent time with their daddy and took handprints and locks of his hair. They sure got a kick out of tying his hair in ribbons to snip off lockets. Their hardest days are ahead of them...... I just ask that you all lift their hearts up in prayer. We'll never understand any of this but I'm so grateful that the kids had that time with their dad.
I am grateful that so many family and friends were able to come and hold him and say goodbye. I am sure Shane was able to feel that he was surrounded by the most beautiful and pure love possible. The stories that were told, the tears shed and the belly laughs are the things that will help me put one foot in front of the other. I couldn't go on without the deep love and support we've been receiving.
Shane's body continued to fail him and this morning we knew we were out of time. Shane was taken off the vent this morning and breathed his last breath while rocking out to Blink 182 and with me and his parents holding him tight. He was able to donate two healthy kidneys and his tissue and joints will live on in burn victims and those suffering with mobility injuries. I am at peace knowing there are pieces of Shane here on this earth helping others while he is with God watching us.
We adore you Shane and we miss you beyond words. Be at peace, my love.
