Celebration of Life and Burial expenses

Spende geschützt
Jathaniel a beautiful 4 year old with a glowing smile and sweet personality lost his fight from congenital heart defect and was called to Heaven May 15, 2020.

We met Jathaniel and his mom and dad and big brother while staying at Ronald McDonald House for medical treatment. While at RMH you spend many weeks and months and you connect with other families and support one another in many journeys. We really connected with this sweet child and my son played often with his older brother and him and they shared many silly playful hours together each day.

Jathaniel went into cardiac failure and was waiting for heart transplant. During this time he became to weak to stay at the RMH and was admitted into the hospital. This stay came with restrictions for the family only allowing one parent at all times due to the Covid19 virus regulations at the hospital. Mom stayed with Jathaniel, while Dad and older brother Josiah stayed at the RMH. They were able to video chat but this was difficult emotionally as the family was separated. As hard this was the family remained strong. Jathaniels stay was over 2 months long away from his dad and brother and he became weaker and needed a surgery to attempt keeping his blood circulation up while waiting for a heart. His team of doctors were going to place a heart pump and do a valve repair to bring Jathaniel to a place where he would be more physically stable and stronger and have energy to play and to eat. He was so weak he had stopped playing and eating and was getting nutrition through an ng tube.

The morning of his surgery with the hospital exceptions his dad was allowed to come to the hospital. This was the first time he was able to physically hug and hold his young son since he entered the hospital. Jathaniel went into a 12 hours surgery. He was on heart bypass during the procedure. It was such a big surgery that once he was off bypass and the pump was working they left his chest open to wait and allow time for his body to calm a few days before closing him up. He had good and bad days and nights with his body fighting. Ups and downs. Fever. Seizures. Medication changes went on for over a week. His system calmed enough the surgeon closed his chest. His little body continued to battle and become weak. It was all just to much and he lost his battle here on earth.

The funds are needed for Jathaniel celebration of life final expenses. The family had been staying at RMH for 10 months since they had to be within  1 hr or less of the hospital while he was on the transplant list. The father was fortunate to have a transfer of his job nearby, however, he was furloughed due to the Covid19 shut downs. The family has no resources and had in fact placed their belongings into storage and gave up their rental home as the stay for transplant families is quite long and with financial strain they were unable to afford to rent and cover there expenses being near the hospital.

This is extremely difficult as so many things are ahead. They have lived at Ronald McDonald House and now with the loss of their son they need help to prepare his final expenses with a celebration (memorial) of life. They have things in storage, a room full of daily life at RMH and no "home" to go to that was or is theirs. Mom and Dad and brother (9 years old) are beginning a  new journey and the emotional road ahead is difficult for each of them. They have lost their baby boy, a son, a little brother and the weight of that will be tremendous.

The funds are needed soon to care for this little ones proper care in a timely manner. The family will be so thankful for any donation you are able to help with and appreciate your prayers and generosity in anything you can do.

All funds will go directly to the family so they may pay for any and all services to bless Jathaniel memorial.
