Celebration of Killing Cancer
Donation protected
By next year, I am hoping to be celebrating a year cancer free. Being diagnosed with cancer at 33 was a huge shock. I felt my heart split the moment the nurse delivered the news, and I knew then that I had 2 choices: to be angry and scared or to stay positive and grab onto every silver-lining and every learning opportunity I could find.
One of the many lessons Cancer has provided is not to wait - celebrate your life and fulfill your passions before it is too late to do it. Another lesson is to ask for help. That's been the hardest lesson of all, and that's what I'm asking for here - help fulfilling one of my bucket list items.
I got diagnosed only a couple of months after becoming official at my new job, so I have run out of paid time off and don't qualify for FMLA or any benefits. Saving money for a trip is nearly impossible at this point, and I need a little help from my friends!
I appreciate all of those who have donated already and/or shared my page. Thank you!
