Update: It is with great sadness and some relief that I share that Jackie passed away peacefully this morning, September 21st, around 7:30 am. She was not in pain and she left quietly, which seems just right for her. 

Jackie has been bravely facing stage 4 breast cancer for some time, and in recent days her health has taken a turn. We are now lovingly preparing for her final journey.

Her greatest joy has always been her pets, her loyal dog Alpha and her beloved kitty companions Snowball and Kismet. She poured so much of her heart into caring for them, just as she did when training service dogs and supporting others through her counseling work.

We are raising funds to honor Jackie’s wishes and make sure her beloved pets are cared for in the way she hoped. Our goal is to set up their new caregivers with everything they need to succeed, including supplies and a head start on continued pet insurance, so her animals can continue to be loved and cared for without interruption. This was Jackie’s deepest wish, and we want to carry it forward for her.

Funds will also help cover Jackie’s end-of-life affairs. Any additional contributions will be donated to a charity of Jackie’s choice, continuing her legacy of care and compassion.
