Rebecca is a 27 year old mother, wife, and daughter. She has recently been diagnosed with Pheochromocytoma. Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor of adrenal gland tissue. It results in the release of too much epinephrine and norepinephrine, hormones that control heart rate, metabolism, and blood pressure. Her current doctor has only seen one other pheo case in his 25 years of practice. Because this tumor is so rare, she will have to go to a special hospital called the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This will be incredibly expensive as they are going to have to pay for the hospital bills, hotel expenses, traveling expenses, etc. She is expected to have to spend about 3 weeks over there for the treatment.
