Support my dad in his fight against cancer

Donation protected
I’ve never done anything like this so I’m not sure where to start. Please bear with me cause this is pretty lengthy. A little over a month ago my family got shocking news that changed our lives. If you know my father, you’d know how much of a stubborn Greek man he is and how much he puts everybody else before himself. On September 3rd, I called my mom as I always do on my way into work and she told me that my dad was in so much pain that he wanted to go to the emergency room(I knew it was serious when I heard this). So, of course, my mom brought him in. After a few hours at the emergency room and running scans, he was discharged and told he needs additional testing and that it should be done asap. Luckily, they were able to get him in for the testing in less than a week. On 9/9, the additional test was performed with a biopsy. That’s when our lives changed. I got a call to run up to the floor where the test was done. I knew it wasn’t good news the whole walk up there. I knew because they told my mom they would call and bring him down once the test was over. So for me to have to go upstairs, there’s no way it was good news. I was trying so hard to be positive, but my body knew and was shaking the whole time. I got to the floor and saw my dad with a table beside him and a box of tissues. The doctor came in and sat, and that’s when we got the news. My dad has been diagnosed with cancer. I myself deal with cancer patients on a daily, but when it hits home, it feels so foreign. After the diagnosis, we met with another two surgeons and an oncologist and additional tests were ordered. A CT scan, three more MRIs, a PET scan and another biopsy. They wanted to make sure there was no spread. Unfortunately, as much as we hoped and prayed there was no spread, we got the news there was in fact evidence of a spread with the second biopsy. This has been extremely difficult for our family, my dad especially. He is trying his best to stay positive, as we all have been, but it’s been tough. If you know my dad, he is such a hard worker and helps anybody who’s ever needed help even if it’s his last dollar. He would literally take his shirt off his back for you. With missing work cause of appointments, and the bills rolling in, his major concern is how he’s going to pay for everything. The next plan of treatment is going to cause him to be out of work for quite some time and while the most important thing he should be focused on is his health, he’s concerned about the bills. As his daughter, trying to make sure the main focus is his health, I thought it may be worth it to start a GoFundMe. Our family would truly appreciate any donation you are able to provide, and ALL the prayers you’re able to send our way.

Ps. The crazy thing about all of this is, one of the doctors told us that the main reason he went into the ER was for a hernia he didn’t know he had & the cancer was a finding on the scans. Had he not had that pain, we wouldn’t have known about the cancer.

If you’ve read this all, thank you so much for taking the time and if you’re able to donate, thank you❤️
