4th Grade Albany Adventure!

We are the 4th grade students of Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School. This year, we have been studying Colonial America and have been learning about Colonial New York's role in the birth of our nation!
We studied colonial trades, explored how members of colonial communities were interdependent and learned about basic economic principles of supply and demand. We learned about the causes of the American Revolution, the role New York played as a hotbed of Loyalist support and the ways in which an engaged citizenry could unite to create change in their community!
As a culminating experience, we would love to visit our state's capitol in Albany. Here, we will get to play a Hudson River Trading game on a life-size game board to practice using all of our knowledge & skills about Colonial American trade. We will also get a chance to visit a colonial landmark, the Ten Broeck Mansion, as well as explore the sea-trade routes that explorers and merchants used at this time in a fun planetarium experience.
