Replace my bike

Donation protected

My husband James is a doctor at Wythenshawe hospital, he cycles to work as we live in Sale.

On Saturday 31st October he was working the weekend, a 12 hour shift in emergency theatres, when he came to leave at 8pm he became aware that his bike had been stolen. The bike was in a secure bike store, with a D lock and the store has CCTV.

How low do you have to stoop to steal from a hospital, in the middle of a pandemic especially?!
Frustrated isn’t the word, if not just a mode of transport to and from work we also used this bike to take our little girl out and about.
It is registered with the police, is UV marked and has a kids seat attachment on the frame.
The theft has been reported but so far we have had no links to finding it.

I’m trying to raise money to replace it as our house insurance won’t cover the loss.

I should point out that James isn’t keen on me fundraising at all, he feels this is a terrible time to be asking people for money and it makes him feel uncomfortable. He has worked tirelessly for the NHS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the time on ICU as many doctors were deployed there to look after the most unwell patients and this loss feels like a huge kick in the teeth after all his hard work, especially as we gear up for the second wave

Any donations towards replacing the bike would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
