My Canine Companion.

Welcome everyone.

My Name is Shirley. I'm the salon owner of Shirley's Solutions. I am taking part in Believe to Achieve's 12-week charity fitness challenge.

I am fundraising in aid of My Canine Companion. This charity is close to my heart. My cousin Darragh, has a service dog called Ace.

I am here today, completing this 12-week challenge. My target is to lose 12 pounds in 12 weeks. I hope to raise €1000 for my cousin Darragh's service dog.

Here is Darragh's story.

Darragh is a 14-year-old boy with autism. Darragh is non-verbal and exhibits very challenging behaviors. Darragh has no sense of danger and is also a flight risk.

We are here today, trying to make Darragh and his family's life more manageable. Is this possible? Yes, it is!

With the help of My Canine Companion. Carol & Kevin McGinty, who are Darragh's parents, applied to MCC several years ago for an assistance dog. Eventually, they were lucky enough to have ACE join their family.

They have ten years to raise €10,000 for all the training provided for Ace. This is what it costs for a service dog.

Since August 2022, Ace has been in full-time training, which will take 3-4 months before becoming a fully qualified service dog.

With the help of everybody's support, we can make this happen.
