As part of the Chicago Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines (CCHRP) commitment to upholding human rights in the Philippines, we are sending a delegation to monitor the Presidential and Congressional elections in May of this year. Historically, elections are not accessible to the basic population in the Philippines and the election season is riddled with fraud, vote buying, voter disenfranchisement and violations of voters rights. It is evermore important for people in the U.S. to be in solidarity with the Filipino people in their aspirations for genuine democracy, and CCHRP echoes this call to ensure voter rights are protected and for clean & honest elections to take place. It’s important for us to stand by as observers and we will be partnering with local voters rights organizations and church organizations to make this happen. We hope you will support our delegation by making a donation today. Donations will go towards our delegations’ meals, COVID-19 tests, domestic ground travel, accommodations, and airfare. Note: This mission is being led by the International Coalition for Human Rights (ICHRP).
