Backpacks of Love

Greetings to all and thank you for your interest in supporting our project.
Starting a new school in a foreign country can be scary a specially when you left everything you know and love behind. Many of the refugees children didn’t get to bring anything with them and many truly have nothing coming into the schools in Poland. We can step in and fill in that gap if we work together. This is not a lot to us but it could mean a world to someone who just lost everything. The backpacks we are sending are filled with all a child loves and needs. This simple gesture from us is meant to provide them not only with necessary items but also the loving feeling of support and gratitude. We want them to know that they are important and not forgotten. Items included are: backpacks, school supplies, crayons, markers, pencils, pens, lunchboxes, water bottles, simple books, personal items, underwear, socks, clothes, shoes, small toys, toilet treats, stuffed animals and really anything that could put a smile on a child’s face. We are also including drawings, letters and cards made by our children. (Idea inspired by a 4-year old Zosia, who really wanted to do something to make those kids feel happier) Everything we are sending is collected from donations organized in local communities. Items are handpicked by children and families and they are also involved in helping us pack and organize the shipment. We make sure the backpacks get delivered directly to the hands of kids who need them. No middle man, just directly from our communities to theirs. It is our small way of saying we care and we are here for You.
The purpose of this monetary collection is to cover the shipping costs, which will allow us to send lots of smaller packages to many different locations.
A little about organizers: We are a group of working moms who are trying to help the World in our spare time. Most of us are from Poland and we know the pain of horrific wars way too well. Our painful history allows us to understand what our Ukrainian brothers and sisters are going through right now. Therefore we must help them in any way possible. We have been organizing fundraisers from the very beginning of this unlawful attack. Currently we are on our 3rd project. Always adapting to the most recent needs. At the moment we are working on sending backpacks with goods to Poland, directly to schools which are hosting children from Ukraine.
We live and work in different areas of MA but we do storage, organize and prepare our packages at Polish Language School in Boston, at 655 Dorchester Ave. We also work closely with “Our Lady of Częstochowa” church and Polish Citizens of Boston community. We collected and delivered many boxes of medical help to Sunflower of Peace organization and we are continuing that as well. Those are being send directly to front lines in Ukraine
Thank you all for your continuous support We are beyond grateful. And forever in debt for the heroic fight Ukraine is putting up for all of us. We will do all we can to support them and keep their spirits high. We will not look away and we will not forget ❤️
