PLEASE HELP CAT RESCUER, 3x CANCER SURVIVOR, MOM OF DEPENDENT SON, SAVE HER HOME!
Donna Abbenhaus is one of the most selfless people I know! She spends every waking moment saving cats and kittens not only in St. Ann, MO, but all over rural MO and IL. She is the cat adoption coordinator for SAPA (St. Ann Pet Adoption center)
Donna is also battling cancer for the fourth time! That's right, I did not mistype that. She is in the midst of the 4th fight of her life for a reoccurrence of her breast cancer. She has survived lung and breast cancer (twice) in the past and now is facing insurmountable medical/prescription fees again. She and her son lived a comfortable life in their home until the costs of fighting cancer 4 times not only ravaged her body but her finances.
She also supports her adult dependent son, who, due to his own medical condition needs his mom's financial and emotional support.
Has this slowed her down? Heck, no! She has fought through all of these hardships in life and has an upbeat, bring-it-on attitude, but the fight she is facing now is trying to save her home for her and her son to continue to live in. Fighting cancer 4 times now has drained her financially, mentally and emotionally. She worries about providing a home for her and her son.
Because of all of these circumstances, Donna has unfortunately fallen behind on paying her real-estate taxes. She is now 3 years behind. We are only asking for donations to pay off one year of the back taxes in order to prevent her house from being sold on the courthouse steps. If we can raise $3,600 before December 31, 2020, she is hoping to get some other financial assistance to help with the other 2 years that she will still owe. But, if not, she and her son will be homeless.
