*******THANK YOU! We have just completed the filing of our paperwork to achieve non-profit status!
We are keeping this fundraiser open to meet the need of displaced LGBTQ+ youth who have to leave college campuses because of the COVID 19 pandemic. We have already been contacted to help. These youth cannot go home. Their biological families do not support them or have disowned them. We are trying to help them find suitable housing accommodations and supplement their living expenses (cell phone, food, gas, internet, etc.). They are going through this pandemic alone, without a family or a community, and now without housing.
Any amount is greatly appreciated. We understand that this is a scary time and we all self-protect. Thank you in advance to those who give. It is truly a gift of unconditional love.*********
The LGBTQ+ community in Prince William County, Virginia, has had to live in the shadows and in the last few years started to come out to demand some protections, even though there are no statewide or federal protections available. One way of doing that is educating the public on discriminatory laws that are on the books and the lack of public accommodations afforded the LGBTQ+ community while seeking services.
Casa BruMar Foundation's mission is:
* to provide acceptance that is lacking to some members of the LGBTQ+ community because of who they are, how they identify, or for whom they love;
* to assist in giving equal opportunity and dignity to members of the LGBTQ+ community who find themselves without a family, a home, or resources to finish their education and become productive members of society, and:
* to advocate for the human rights of the LGBTQ+ community to achieve equal protection under the law.
