Golf Cart to feed the cats!

Dear friends and supporters of Save a Gato,
This fundraiser has been created with the purpose of raising money to buy a golf cart for feeding the approximately 100 cats living in the seven existing colonies in Paseo del Morro. The golf cart we currently use for feeding these colonies was purchased as a used cart eleven (11) years ago. It has broken down on us several times while feeding the cats, and unfortunately our mechanic has stated that it will not last much longer, as it is very old and has been intensively used. The mechanic has advised us to buy a new cart.
Paseo del Morro, where the cats live, is approximately two miles long. In every feeding, our volunteers have to use 80-100 pounds of food and 50-60 gallons of water. The feeding stations are filled three to four times a week. The cats living in these colonies have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well taken care of by Save a Gato. Without a golf cart, filling the feeding stations with food and water would be a monumental and almost-impossible task for our volunteers, as not only the trail is long, but it is also exposed to the weather elements. It gets really hot in the summers!
We have researched different brands of golf cars and their cost, and have concluded that the best one that serves our needs is the Polaris, with a cost of approximately $10,000.00. Because we want to keep taking excellent care of our beloved Paseo del Morro cats, we ask you to please donate so that we can buy this cart and continue with our mission of helping the cats of Old San Juan. Esta campaña de recaudación de fondos ha sido creada con el propósito de recaudar dinero para comprar un carrito de golf para alimentar los aproximadamente 100 gatos que viven en las siete colonias existentes en el Paseo del Morro. El carrito de golf que actualmente usamos para alimentar a estas colonias fue comprado de segunda mano hace once (11) años. Se ha dañado varias veces mientras alimentamos a los gatos, y desafortunadamente nuestro mecánico ha dicho que el carrito no va a durar mucho más, ya que es muy viejo y ha sido usado intensamente. El mecánico nos ha aconsejado que compremos un carrito nuevo.
El Paseo del Morro, donde los gatos viven, tiene aproximadamente dos millas de distancia. Cada vez que alimentan a los gatos nuestros voluntarios tienen que usar de 80 a 100 libras de comida y de 50 a 60 galones de agua. Las estaciones de comida son llenadas de tres a cuatro veces a la semana. Los gatos que viven en estas colonias han sido esterilizados, vacunados y son bien cuidados por Save a Gato. Sin un carrito de golf, el llenar de comida y agua las estaciones sería una labor monumental y prácticamente imposible de lograr, ya que el Paseo no solamente es largo sino también está expuesto a las inclemencias del tiempo. ¡Es bien caluroso en verano!
Hemos investigado distintas marcas de carritos de golf y su costo, y hemos concluido que la que mejor nos serviría a nuestras necesidades es la Polaris, con un costo de aproximadamente $10,000.00. Ya que queremos seguir dando a nuestros queridos gatos del Paseo del Morro un cuidado de excelencia, les solicitamos que por favor donen para que podamos comprar este carrito y continuar con nuestra misión de ayudar a los gatos del Viejo San Juan. ¡Cualquier cantidad es estupenda! ¡Y gracias por su apoyo! www.saveagato.org
