On May 22, 2017, we both mourned and celebrated as Carolyn went to be with the Lord. Carolyn is the beloved wife of Matthew and mother of Isabel (age 2). She is also a treasured daughter of June and Steve Wojcik; sister of Stephen and Jessie; daughter-in-law of Mary and Bill Scerra; sister-in-law of Kara, Michael, Jeremy, and Jennifer; aunt of Oden, Esther, and Hannah; granddaughter; niece of many aunts and uncles; cousin to many; teacher and friend. She was surrounded by loving family, and closeness to her family and friends always played a vital part in her life.

She leaves behind her a legacy of selfless love, an adventurous spirit, a clever sense of humor, a love of science and God's creation, and a willingness to help anyone in need. (As one small example, even while in the midst of painful chemo treatments, Carolyn continued teaching because she wanted to make sure her AP students would succeed.)  Carolyn has blessed all of the lives she touched--from her family and friends, to those she taught, to all she met on her missions trips and travels, to those she never met in person but whose spirit and story have inspired. She will be dearly missed.

This fund is created by Matthew's sister in order to help Carolyn's family defray medical, funeral, and additional costs. All donations will be presented to the family.
