Carnighans Rebuild Fund

The floods happened quicker than anyone thought. At 3 am in the morning, Sean woke up to waters rising in the house. Sean knew he had to get his family to higher ground. Their neighbor's house caught on fire but fire trucks couldn't get through the flooding to help. So they watched it burn down. With the three boys on their shoulders, they trudged to another neighbor's house with a second story. The waters kept rising. They saw their cars completely submerged underwater.  Sean went back to the house to try to rescue the two dogs but they only found one. Later, they were rescued by a military vehicle and brought to a shelter and that shelter had no food or water.  With no car, they waited to be transported out of the shelter. When they finally were transported they only had their phones and the clothes on their backs.

For those of you that know Sean and Dani you know, they are extremely strong and positive people. Their courage has been inspiring to witness. And a silver lining is that when they went back to survey the damage to the house they found the other dog...alive!

But they now have the daunting work of starting over. They were hit the hardest.

The entire house has to be gutted and rebuilt.

Cars have to be purchased.

It truly is a state of emergency.

Sean is my brother in law that I have known for 20 years.

The funds will be used to buy two cars, clothes, furniture and building materials.
