Caring Chefs and Community Cops

Our Mission (From Co-Founder Larry “Bear” Lowe):

In December of 2019 I saw a feature on the local news that touched me very deeply! Not only for the blessed good deed it was but it involved a very good friend and proud to say “Fraternity Brother”. He was paying it forward, he was doing his best to make a positive on his community and fellow human beings. Now there are people that do this all the time but what made this all the more special and touching was the year of ups and downs he went through and yet still found the time in his day and room in his heart to do this. I’ve experienced the lowest of lows and some highs as well but never have lost the faith and generosity within my heart for others. I’ve always been one to do whatever I could at times of need for anyone that  needed it. Never thinking it was enough and always wanting to do more not fully following through.  Until the day I saw this feature and my brother Sadaka doing it, paying it forward, giving of himself to help someone else after all he had been through throughout the year, made me realize just how fragile life is and even more so for some folks.  I’ve been incredibly blessed in life and wholly grateful to God for what he has brought to my life. It is my want, my need and my duty to help any and everyone I can in any way that I can. That being said Sadaka and I started with 40 meals and passed them out in Albany and the experience was amazing.  We decided during that event that we were going to commit to once a month doing that very same thing in locations throughout Albany. We also heard from many many folks about wanting to help, donate money, donate time or both and we are both floored by the responses.  Right now the biggest help for us both would be the donation of food supplies and bottled water. The eventual goal is to grow this into an event with multiple venues and with more frequency!  The need never ends so as we grow this the need for more volunteers will come.
