29th March (Good Friday) Care4Coast Charity Run

Care4Coast is a not-for-profit registered charity, supporting the most vulnerable in our local Central Coast and Lismore communities during hardship, crisis and natural disasters.

With the help of generous corporate donations and a dedicated volunteer team, Care4Coast have established a regular outreach service in Gosford NSW every Monday night.

I work as a sports coach at Central Coast Sports College and was introduced to Care4coast through some students completing a social action project. After being inspired by our students and the work this charity does, I decided to volunteer for a few weeks. I thought it would be a great initiative to involve some of our Senior students from the College to give back to the community Monday nights by being part of the Care4Coast service and raise awareness for the less fortunate.

Every Monday night the Care4Coast volunteer team are set-up in Kibble Park - Donnison Street Gosford NSW. This weekly outreach service offers food, emergency assistance and crisis support for anyone in need across the Central Coast. They support an average of 80-100 people of all ages and demographics, every Monday night.

For my 30th Birthday on Good Friday, I will be attempting to run a 100km loop around the Central Coast to raise funds and awareness for Care4Coast. These funds will assist in supporting this great charity and hopefully be able to positively impact more people in the community. This will be no easy feat but only a minor physical and mental challenge compared to those in much less fortunate positions.
