Car to get my children to school

I’m emotional and embarrassed to be setting up a go fund me page. So please bear with me while I tell you why. My car is broken and is going to cost over £1000 to fix, £600 more than it’s worth. After having my late mother spending £600+ already to fix. What a mean and horribly sad clutching at straws 2 years.  Being a single mummy at 40 and in this dire situation, feeling terribly alone, is definitely a test for mind, body and definitely the soul.

Basically the brakes have failed on my car, it’s not safe to drive, everything and I mean everything needs replacing.

As some of you may know, I had to move to Bodmin after being left with nowhere to live and no money after my husband leaving me. I didn’t want to change the children’s school and preschool as they have made such good friendship groups, after all why should they suffer? Their lives have changed enough without having to say goodbye to all their little friends and wonderful teachers. I’ve driven them to school in Wadebridge for over a year now. My little £700 car did us good. And boy did it take a long time to get that £700 together. 

For me to get the children to school by bus means we will be stand around for an hour in the cold and cost me £8 a day. 

Of course I have gone down the what you’d say obvious route of asking their father to take them to school but got faced with a chuckle and a big fat no. He can’t take the time out from his own business and I quote my responsibility alone to get the children to school. 

So I’m asking please, if there’s anyone out there that can help? I literally am desperate, with £70 to last until the 22nd of November. Single mummy life is hard and tough and very lonely. But I love my children enough to embarrass myself by asking for help.

As I write this with tears streaming down my face I have faith and hope that even if no one donates, at least they might understand.  Thank you for taking the time to read this. xx
