Donation protected
May 3rd 2019- Happy Birthday Candy- From All of Carson High Class of 1976-

Please join us in wishing Candy a Happy Birthday,  if you are able,  give the gift of a donation; if not please say hi and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Candy was born with Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative neuro-muscular disease, that slowly causes the loss of the ability to use your entire body. This was compounded by an auto accident in 1987 that left her with 12 broken bones.  The accident caused severe arthritis to set in. The equipment Candy uses allows her to live as full a life as she possibly can.

Candy also told us that she was the very first student in a wheel chair allowed to attend  Carson High School,  it wasn't until she was a Junior that she was finally admitted as a student.

Candy has not asked for any help!

The Carson High Class of 76  hopes to help Candy and Candy's family with several financial burdens for much needed  repairs and replacements of items essential to Candy's daily life.

It  was when Candy shared on her page about her battle with the bed company trying to sell a new bed rather than selling her a part  for her bed caught the attention of our 40th reunion Hero Wayne Nash.   Thinking the class fund could help a little with the part,  we reached out to Candy, when it was discovered not only  her bed needed repair,   her shower chair is broken, the battery and tires on her wheel chair need replacement (duct tape is keeping it rolling),  the lift on her van for transportation is needing repair.

Candy's family is building for her a new beautiful living space addition to the Roper Family Home to ensure Candy has proper daily care.    Candy is excited and should be able to move in 2-3 months.

Candy is a  native Nevadan and our Class of 76 family member, Please help if you can  it would be sincerely appreciated.
