Campaign Zero & Justice for Adama - Open Mic Night

Over the past few months, the world has finally begun to open its eyes to the  police brutality and racism that Black people are forced to contend with on a daily basis.  It's been an especially triggering, painful, traumatic few weeks witnessing what's happening in my home country (and around the world), while being abroad in the U.K. - so together with my friend, Mathilde, we decided to bring our communities together to raise money for organizations working to reduce police violence and support the families of victims of police brutality.

We are hosting an open-mic night  (event details can be found here ) where people can come together to heal, support one another, and leverage our talents to raise money to fight the good fight against systemic racism. We’re asking attendees, performers, and those in your wider network to donate whatever they can, as all proceeds will be split and donated to Campaign Zero , a police reform campaign aimed at reducing police violence, as well as a campaign to support the family of Adama Traore , a French Black man killed by police in 2016 whose family is still fighting for justice. We will collect donations before, during, and several days after the event for those who'd like to support but can't attend the event for whatever reason!

It's been great to see how people are coming together to support the Black community, resulting in real engagement that will hopefully lead to sustained change in the world. We hope that with this event we can be part of this effort.

Amazingly talented ally and friend, Sarah Tue-Fee is donating one of her beautiful "Ghost" illustration print to be raffled off to one lucky donor! GhostsBySarah is a Canadian illustrator based in the UK. She draws ghosts doing everyday activities onto photographs of empty spaces with paint pen and ink. Follow her on Instagram @ghostsbysarah and prints of her drawings are available to order at

Ally superstars and talented artists Hayley and Aaron Richardson are also donating a "BREATHE" themed print to be raffled off to another lucky donor! Kiwi and the Bear is a husband and wife creative team based in the UK. They create beautiful and original pieces using scraps (to reduce their overall waste) in making fun tie-dye fabrics and prints. Their prints are available to order at

Donors that have donated 50 or more, will be entered into a raffle for the framed Black Lives Matter  illustration, as well as the digital print and/or physical print of the event-themed BREATHE  print, which we will announce after the open mic!

Peace and Love,
Whitney & Mathilde
