Campaign Zero & Justice for Adama - Open Mic Night

Donation protected
Over the past few months, the world has finally begun to open its eyes to the  police brutality and racism that Black people are forced to contend with on a daily basis.  It's been an especially triggering, painful, traumatic few weeks witnessing what's happening in my home country (and around the world), while being abroad in the U.K. - so together with my friend, Mathilde, we decided to bring our communities together to raise money for organizations working to reduce police violence and support the families of victims of police brutality.

We are hosting an open-mic night  (event details can be found here ) where people can come together to heal, support one another, and leverage our talents to raise money to fight the good fight against systemic racism. We’re asking attendees, performers, and those in your wider network to donate whatever they can, as all proceeds will be split and donated to Campaign Zero , a police reform campaign aimed at reducing police violence, as well as a campaign to support the family of Adama Traore , a French Black man killed by police in 2016 whose family is still fighting for justice. We will collect donations before, during, and several days after the event for those who'd like to support but can't attend the event for whatever reason!

It's been great to see how people are coming together to support the Black community, resulting in real engagement that will hopefully lead to sustained change in the world. We hope that with this event we can be part of this effort.
