Auka, (Kumiay for Hello), my name is Cathie and I am collecting funds to support a camp for Kumiay children in Rancho Meskuish, Juntas de Nejii, in Baja California. Participants range from age 2 to 18. They learn the language and culture of their heritage from their grandmother who is one of the last remaining speakers of the Kumiay language. They also participate is various workshops presented by community volunteers. Funds are needed for food, transportation, and workshop materials.
