Camp Conron Needs Your Help!
Spende geschützt
Hi, My name is Millie Hong, the Scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 255 Queens. I want to help Mr. Howard Schubert, the President of Conron Camp Foundation, raise enough money to repair the six lean-tos where our scouts sleep during the monthly camping trip at Camp Conron, Holmes, NY.
Conron Camp Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. It was established to provide outdoor and organized activities to the youths of the Greater New York area in 1940. It owns and operates a 57-acre camping facility in Holmes, New York. The Camp was purchased in 1964 with donations obtained by Mr. James Conron, and the facility was furnished/built/renovated with six lean-tos and a house by the parents of the youths and volunteers. It is a direct sponsor of Queens Scout Troop 255, Pack 255, and later the Girl Scouts 4-525, 4-625, 4-725, and 4-772. The scout troops have generated over 150 Eagle Scouts since 1951 and many Gold/Silver/Bronze girl scout medalists. Many organized groups have utilized the Camp, most scout troops in the Great New York area.
The almost 60-year-old structures and roads in the Conron Camp need maintenance and repair. We recently changed the new roof, heating system, septic tank, and road to the Camp from the public road. The six lean-tos haven't been repaired for the past 50 years. They must immediately install new plywood, footings, roof beams, roofs, and sidings. Thank you to the adult leaders from Troop 376 who will help us to do all the work, and the cost of the material and tools is about $15,000
Your generous donation (any amount) is greatly appreciated, and they are tax-deductible.
Thank you very much!
Yours in Scouting,
Millie Hong
