Save Cadstock Free Music Festival Cadoxton Barry

Hi all! My name is Jules and I have watched Cadstock from day one grow into an astonishing and much loved free music festival on the doorstep of my family home. Sadly this year it has been announced that the Vale of Glamorgan Council have withdrawn/cannot offer what they have done previously to support after having their community events budget cut. This is unacceptable particularly as the council’s annual budget is £294m. Cadstock is the town’s highlight of the summer and runs over 2 days, open, inclusive for all and totally free. We want to keep it that way for many years to come but it is now costing nearly £20k a year to run the event as many can appreciate there are now security, portaloos, stalls, and all sorts of behind the scenes magic that Jon and the team do to promote and have everything running smoothly. Donations will go towards cleaning and rubbish disposal,Portaloo rental, sound systems and engineers, paying the bands, licensing, security and police, insurance etc.

Quite simply, we need to raise close to £20k in 2 weeks for it to go ahead. I will be contacting local councillors separately to see if anything can be done. If any funds kindly donated cannot reach our target, funds will be put towards Cadstock in 2024 instead.
