Fundraising for Orphanage

For a long time now I have been wanting to combine my passion for travel with my wish to help and the time is finally here.
On August 22 I will be taking off with my friend Rachel to beautiful Cusco in Peru for the first time and I will have the priviledge of volunteering with orphans for 1 week. I am both excited and a little scared at the same time as I have no child entertainment skills but I will try my best. :-)
I am volunteering through this great and affordable organization International Volunteer Headquarters so I have been able to fund the trip myself.
I have had a few friends ask if they can help in anyway so I thought I would create this page and raise funds to buy the kids some needed items. I know that in Brazil they often need shoes, clothes, diapers, etc so the money may go towards those types of items.
My plan is to bring the funds with me and then talk to the orphanage administrators to find out what they really need (it could be equipment for the orphanage itself as another example). I will then take the funds myself and buy what they need, that's what the volunteering organization suggested I do.

We will be taking lots of pictures and posting on our travel diary during the trip, so feel free to check them out to see your money being put to good use.
