Saturday community outreach was a success! So why stop there? With the rise of Hate Crimes against the AAPI community, our most vulnerable and respected have become the biggest target. As we are saddened and tired of seeing these crimes being committed we must stand together to help our community.
Last Saturday a handful of volunteers gathered and passed out personal alarms, whistles, and flyers to the elderly, innocent, and surrounding businesses in the International District. As much of a success as it was, we were only able to reach out to about 15% of the community. Almost every person we passed the alarms, whistles, and flyers to expressed their gratitude as well as shared theirs fears of being out. This is not OK.
We need your help to continue this mission of keeping our community safe. With your donations, we will be able to purchase additional personal alarms, whistles, and flyers to be distributed in high AAPI traffic areas such as International District, temples and parks.
