Emergency meal service Ottawa

We are raising money to prepare our initiative to distribute meals to Ottawans in need during the current Covid-19 crisis. My wife and I posted about doing this on Reddit to let those in our neighborhood know we are able to help and with so many amazing redditors volunteering their time, money and resources we've decided to become as ready as possible to make as many meals as possible

We are both food service professionals and have a pretty fair reach to resources with a knowledge of emergency cooking. We have secured a commercial kitchen to use and we utilize our networks for any food donations available, but we are missing a few key elements  

This money will go towards packaging for meals as well as resources for volunteers for things like chemical dishwashing and sanitizing solutions, other cleaning supplies, masks, logistics and additional food supplies

We will be working together with community groups to distribute meals and donations and is where any extra money from this fund will be fed into. The outpour from our city has been incredible and has truly touched our hearts, we would be so grateful for anything you are able to give
