Evan was riding his motorcycle near his home in Safety Harbor on June 16th, 2014 when a car T-boned him which sent him flying 30 feet causing him severe injuries to his left leg, including multiple bone breaks in his leg and ankle. His fibula went straight through his calf. When he landed his shoe flew off causing his entire heel pad to be torn off. This is the most serious of his injuries. The surgeons performed a skin graft and put a cast on which has to be taken off and checked every week to see the progress and make sure it is healing properly and stays clear of infection. There is a possibility that they will have to amputate from the knee down if it doesn't heal correctly. He was dressed responsibly in his helmet and riding gear. He was driving under the 25 mph speedlimit. Luckily, there was an eyewitness who called for help and Evan was rushed to the trauma center at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. He has undergone two surgeries so far and was in the Hospital for 9 days. Evan is 21 years old and has been working two part time jobs and recently registered at ITT Tech. This accident has caused him to postpone his schooling and is physically unable to work. The person who hit him has minimal insurance and his Hospital bills are currently over $200,000.
