Some of you may have noticed that my family and I have been using the butterfly for a lot of things recently What most of you probably don’t know is the significance behind it that our dad set for us. He told my mom before he passed to watch out for the butterflies. It’s been beautiful the number of times our family has had truly unique and unexplainable butterfly experiences since this last July. So, for us it’s a constant reminder that he is still with us.

He was everyone’s constant protector and one thing that really tore at his heart was anytime he went to a treatment and there was a child there getting chemo. He would always comment that he would do 100 treatments to keep those kids from going through it. My family would like to honor him each year on his birthday by doing something for kids in treatment.

This year I would love to raise enough money to make a gift to the UNC Children’s Hospital. The hospital is doing a Butterly Campaign right now and I couldn’t imagine anything more fitting. So, please consider helping me honor my dad’s amazing 54 years with us by raising $250 to donate a Butterfly to the UNC Children’s Smith Family Butterfly Canopy. This gift will support patients and families at the UNC Children’s Hospital.
