Bull City Canvass in Georgia For Senate Runoffs

The landmark Georgia Runoff Elections for both Senate Seats are on January 5th. Durham-based Get Out The Vote group BullCityVotes has sent experienced canvassers to critical areas across Georgia. We will be there November 29-January 8 to register new voters; provide high quality information about Early Vote, mail-in voting, and Election Day voting; and inspire Georgians to vote using our deep canvassing method--like we did in Durham (we had almost 74 percent voter turnout in 2020–the highest since 2008).*  We will also work with local organizations on ballot curing.

Funds raised in this GoFundMe will be used for costs associated with out-of-town canvassers (many of whom are students and/or people with limited incomes) being in Savannah for an extended period including:  a food allowance, costs associated with housing, travel expenses, PPE and sanitation supplies, parking, wear and tear on vehicles.  Funds will also be used for office expenses necessary for effective canvassing including:  copying thousands of flyers, clipboards, pens, tables, table cloths, candy, sanitizer wipes, sanitizer, and extra masks for voters who do not have one.  All canvassers requesting reimbursement for costs associated with being in Savannah will provide itemized receipts to one of our main organizers, Carol Faulkner Fox, who will pay people back promptly with funds raised in the GoFundMe.  

Thank you for your support, which is allowing this canvassing project to happen!  Please note:  if there are any funds left over after ballot curing for the GA election ends on January 8th, they will be used for voter registration back in Durham, North Carolina.  Our organization is committed to expanding voting access for all eligible voters across the South.

*All volunteers will be COVID-tested, work outside – masked and distanced – and follow all public health protocols.
