Help Elijah build Permaculture Center at Nakivale

I am Elijah Astute, a Congolese refugee based in Uganda Nakivale Refugee Resettlement since 2016. I have been working on various projects based on empowering the livelihood of refugees in Nakivale and host communities in the past years, but the situation has gone beyond control and I believe we're in need of your help.

Due to political unrest, environmental catastrophes, and economic instabilities, millions of families are getting forced to flee their home countries to look for refuge in Nakivale camp. The situation is becoming worse due to ongoing wars in neighboring countries, and Nakivale is receiving a lot of refugees daily. Hunger and malnutrition are becoming the big challenges refugees are facing as World Food Program has decided to decrease the food ration to $4 monthly.

We are excited to announce our fundraising campaign for the construction of a Permaculture Community Center in Nakivale Refugee Resettlement, Uganda. Our organization, Bio-Green, is dedicated to creating sustainable and secure environments for communities in need.

We believe that by integrating permaculture principles, specifically syntropic agroforestry and mushroom cultivation, we can empower the residents of Nakivale and provide them with the tools for a brighter future.

Nakivale Refugee Resettlement is home to over 100,000 refugees who have escaped conflict and persecution. Unfortunately, many of them face challenges such as food insecurity and limited access to resources. Our goal is to construct a Permaculture Community Center that will serve as a hub for education, training, and community development.

With your support, we can make this vision a reality. The Permaculture Community Center will focus on the following initiatives:

1. Syntropic Agroforestry: By establishing a syntropic agroforestry demonstration site, we will create a resilient and productive ecosystem that improves soil fertility, conserves water, and provides a sustainable source of food and income.

2. Mushroom Cultivation: We will set up a mushroom cultivation facility within the community center. This initiative will empower refugees to grow and harvest mushrooms, a nutritious food source that can also generate income in local markets.

3. Workshops and Training: The Permaculture Community Center will offer workshops and training programs on permaculture, syntropic agroforestry, mushroom cultivation, and other sustainable practices. These educational initiatives will equip the residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to improve their livelihoods.

To make this project a success, we need your help. Our goal is to raise $11,541 to cover the costs of construction, materials, equipment, and training resources. Your generous contributions will directly support the establishment of the Permaculture Community Center and empower the residents of Nakivale to create a sustainable and secure future for themselves.

The Donations will pay for:
- Gardening tools, seeds, and plot of land ($4,900)
- Training materials ($2800)

Sincerely,
Elijah Astute
