Build a Library for Thai Children

Ban Nam Dua school would like to improve the quality of their education by renovating their library so it can be bigger to hold more students and include more books. This project is to raise money for the school so they will be able to renovate their library. It would greatly help out the school and the students attending there. For this project we are going to aim for $7500.


Ban Nam Dua school is located in the province of Phetchabun, Thailand. It houses around 102 students total from junior kindergarten to grade 6. There are four teachers at this school with one or two volunteers coming to help teach the students each week. The school lacks the funding to make this renovation happen because the school is situated in a low class neighborhood. 

Many of the students who are attending this school are from low class families. Some of the families struggle to get enough money for daily needs such as food. Some students live with their grandparent(s) because either their parent(s) are working in other cities to earn money or they have abandoned their children. 

The people in the community are already starting this project. If you would like to donate to help out the school, you can do it by donating to help build the library and spreading the word so more people can know about this. They would like to ask you to help them by donating to build a library so they can improve the quality of their children's learning and expand their knowledge. 


The total budget of the construction project is about $16 800 CAD, and at this time we are aiming to raise $7500 to support this project.

All donations will go into a bank account under my stepfather, Stephen Lye's name. Once the campaign ends my mother,  Phetcharawan, will travel to Thailand and personally deliver the donations to the school. The school/community committee will oversee the appropriate use of the funds. The committee is chaired by the Principal of the School, and includes two teachers and three members of the community.
