Dear friends and family,
I have been inundated with emails, phone calls and Facebook messages asking how you can help this dire situation. The Refugee Crisis in Hungary needs our immediate attention. I have been going to "transit zones" and am horrified by what I have seen. Women and children are living in train stations in unimaginable conditions. Government assistance is limited (very) and I have been able to identify only one local NGO that is collecting and distributing donations from private individuals. While they are doing a job, it simply is not enough.
With your donations I would buy train tickets, food, water, toiletries, baby formula, etc.. Cooler, inclement weather is coming and I fear the crisis will become more acute. While the needs change from day to day, the basics are a constant.
