Hevrah 2014: Stop Food Insecurity

Donation protected
Welcome to the Hevrah 2014 fundraising page! Hevrah is a program at URJ Camp Newman where teens get together for four weeks to work on a social action topic. This year, the topic is food insecurity. The government defines someone who is food insecure as one who does not know where their next meal is coming from. People who are food insecure are also faced with many other challenges and can have trouble focusing at work or in school. Currently, 50.1 million people in the US are food insecure. This number includes 17.2 million/ food insecure children, kids just like us.

One way that we are making a change is by raising money for organizations that are working to end food insecurity. We are reaching out to you for your support. Just $2.50 can provide a meal for a person, and $10 can provide a meal for a family of four. Our goal is to raise $500, or to provide 200 meals for people who deal with food insecurity on a daily basis.

Make sure to check back to our page often to learn about our progress, as well as cool events that we are hosting to raise money for our cause!

Thank you for your support,
