Brown Girl Woke Centre Donation
Beschermde donatie
Many of you will know Brown Girl Woke and our grassroots youth work in the community in Samoa. We create safe and inclusive spaces for young Samoans to learn about the issues that affect them so that they can fully participate in their own lives and advocate for their communities.
We have had free grocery programs, ending violence programs, water tank projects, university scholarships, peer counselling, child safety programs, ending period poverty menstrual hygiene projects, street vendor and school reading programs, and so much more.
We are the only independent community based Youth Centre in Samoa right now. This is where we host all our FREE programs for youth - workshops, talanoa sessions, safety trainings, professional development, health testing, and much more. We also allow youth groups and other organisations to run programs in our safe space to support them for free.
Right now, we are without core funding to pay our salaries, rent, and overheads. We hope to see funding for this in July. We are reaching out to the goodness and generosity of our community as we need help for the next 3 months to keep our staff and keep our youth centre open until then.
We are so grateful for the many groups we have worked with and helped over the years. We never charge our youth for our programs. We have never asked before but right now we need help to keep the lights on.
Everything and anything helps ❤️
